UAP invest in weather Stations

UAP have invested in a network of “ADCON” weather stations that are situated all over the UK, giving optimum coverage.

The stations collect weather data which is used to more accurately forecast various pests and diseases, giving UAP the upper hand in effective crop protection.

The stations improve pest and disease control decision making in top fruit, potatoes, hops, vines, strawberries, lettuce and tomatoes. Some of the diseases forecasted are Downy and Powdery Mildews, Fireblight, Potato and Tomato Late Blight and Apple Scab.

The collected data can be interpreted by UAP staff, using various computing models. The information can also be imported into the HDC-developed “MORPH” computer model, increasing the range of prediction systems available to Agronomists. The technology allows rapid communication of pest and disease threats, by text and email to UAP Agronomists.

The bottom line will be more effective control, improved adoption of IPM/ICM techniques and not least, greater customer satisfaction.
